Arc-et-Senans Royal Saltworks


La Saline Royale de Chaux, classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site is a major historic monument. It's an unique example of the industrial architecture of the century of Enlightenment.
The department of the Doubs, who own the complex of buildings, has lavished 60 years of restoration work on it.

Osselle Grotto: following the tracks of the Cave Bears


For the beauty of its natural setting, the variety of its crystals and colours and historical and prehistoric treasures, the Osselle Grotto has its place among the most surprising grottos in the world.

Besançon Citadel: several museums and a zoo


The Citadel is Vauban´s masterpiece, built over the period 1668 and 1711 and covers 11 hectares.
The Citadel perched over100 metres above Besançon´s historic centre tightly encircled by a magnificent loop, formed by a meander in the river Doubs.
The fortress has been painstakingly refurbished and the Citadel is now a one-of-the kind cultural and tourist high spot that invites you to mingle with both past and present.

Arbois


Nestling among vineyards and forests, Arbois will delight you with its architecture, history, culture and Jura wines.
Discover the House of Louis Pasteur, visit its wine cellars and taste its renowned gastronomy.

Salins-les-Bains


Protected by two forts perched on steep hills beneath the summit of Mont Poupet, Salins-les-Bains tells the story of salt, the white gold of the past that made the town so rich.
Visit les Salines and the Salt Museum, and enjoy the thermal baths for fitness, relaxation or a medical cure.
Thrill-seekers can also enjoy paragliding and tree climbing.

Dole


Take the whole family on a fun-filled discovery of the history and remarkable sites of the former Comtoise capital, which was alternately French and Spanish, as you follow the Chat Perché trail in the footsteps of Marcel Aymé, who spent his childhood in Dole.

The Chasm of Poudrey


Leading into an immense chamber which gives you an immediate and lasting impression of being in a sacred place, le Gouffre de Poudrey takes you 70 metres underground.
During a 45 minute underground walk, you will discover a geological wonder whose formation and internal dimensions will astound you.
It's currently the biggest in France to be developed for visitors.

Nans-sous-Sainte-Anne


This village is home to most curiosities of the Jura : the reculée (glacial valley in a limestone plateau), the Lison waterfall gushing out of a grotto, the Sarrazine grotto (a veritable stone cathedral), the Creux Billard sinkhole, a cliff equipped with a via ferrata, and a Taillanderie.
